How to score high in General Awareness Section in bank exams?

Bank exams are the most challenging exams of the competitive exams for government jobs. Preliminary stage is easy to qualify to a certain extent because it has three sections namely, Logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude and English comprehension. Questions asked are also less in number as compared to mains exam.
In mains there are four sections namely, English, reasoning, quantitative aptitude and general awareness clubbed with computer awareness.
General awareness section is scoring but at the same time it is the most troublesome for some students. There is a dire need of regular revision to master this subject.
Before planning for a study module for banking awareness it is very essential to know the important topics to be covered.

Approach to be adopted to prepare for general awareness is given below:
Prepare appropriate notes and revise them daily.  Make notes from the newspaper so that you remember them till the exam. Buy any newspaper and read in 40 minutes.  Then make notes of the news read. After writing notes devote 20 minutes to learn them.
Never read more than one newspaper as it will confuse you unnecessarily.

  • Mergers & Acquisitions, Takeovers, Buyouts, Joint Ventures and all the current news related to banks and economy happened 3-4 months before the exam date.
  • Marketing Terms like telemarketing, cross-selling etc.
